Nutritious Baby Food Recipe (6 Months+): Lentils, Squash, Tomato & Orange

Ingredients:

40 grams (1 ½ oz) dried split red lentils, rinsed
60 grams (2 ¼ oz) butternut squash, peeled, deseeded, and cubed
1 tomato, deseeded and diced
4 tablespoons fresh orange juice

Prep & Cook Time:

Preparation time: 10–14 minutes
Cooking time: Approximately 20 minutes

Instructions:

1-In a pot, combine the butternut squash and lentils. Add enough water to fully cover the ingredients and bring to a boil.

2-Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Skim off any foam that forms on the surface.

3-Add the diced tomatoes and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until all ingredients are tender and soft.
Drain the mixture.

4-Place the cooked ingredients in a blender or use a hand blender. Add the orange juice and blend until smooth and silky.
